This past week has been fun for Erick and I because we moved into our own apartment and because we now have space to put our baby stuff that we are collecting. We bought the bassinet about 3 weeks ago and then on Saturday we purchased the diaper bag that I really liked. It is made by Jeep, it is made of canvas so I can wash it if it gets looking yucky, and it is black so Erick and I can carry it around without looking overly frilly. Then yesterday night we bought our stroller/car seat travel system!! We felt like we would get a better deal getting a stroller and car seat for the price of just a car seat so we invested in it and since we had a little extra cash (thank you tax season), we now have everything large except the crib!!

We've also had fun just spending some time together doing little things like making cookies and dinner together, trying out our new washer and dryer (thanks again, tax season), and watching movies together when Erick doesn't have homework and work. The time is passing quickly before our little guy arrives but I have found that I want to enjoy the last of my free time for the next 30 years and so I try to enjoy just watching TV or cooking dinner at a slow easy pace - I've also enjoyed working on puzzles, reading, and catching up on my journal. For you veteran mothers out there, how do you survive with so little personal time?!
We have the same diaper bag! I love it. It's more like a giant baby suitcase and you can cram at least four days worth of clothes and diapers in it. Trust me, I know. :)
ReplyDeleteAs far as personal time, you learn to enjoy bed time and nap times and you just realize that personal time will be rare, but it's worth it to be with your little ones. And girls nights always help.
Congrats on the big purchases. You guys are almost ready!
Personal--- persona--- what?
ReplyDeleteNope. Not even in the bathroom, if ya know what I mean...
