More on Ryker

Ryker is our first child, so naturally like all first-time parents, I can't say enough about my sweet little boy! He's been such a joy to have in our home because I have found that he makes me appreciate all of the hard work my mother put into my rearing. It is hard work to have a baby, especially when you have to work in addition to managing a home and the baby. However, Ryker is such a mild child that I don't have to spend too much time trying to keep him calm and happy. When he naps, I can get the house cleaned and dinner made, but there have been times when he will sit quietly in his bouncy chair and just look around or coo at me while I'm working in the house or at work.

We blessed Ryker on the 4th of July and Erick gave him a beautiful blessing. We want to thank everyone who came to it and helped us with the luncheon afterwards - it was a pleasant day and we enjoyed everyone's company as well.

Ryker in his blessing outfit - a more formal picture to come later!

The only sad part of being a parent is watching your child fall ill and not being able to do much about it. Ryker got sick last week and I took him to the doctor to see what I could do to help him breathe easier - not a whole lot because he's under 2 months. We also found out that he weighs 10 pounds at 7 weeks!!! He was 7 pounds 11 ounces when he had his 2 week check up so he has put on 2 pounds in the last month! He's starting to fill out and grow - we had to put him in his 0-3 clothes and retire his newborn clothing already!!

Anyway, I will stop rambling - we love Ryker and we enjoy watching him grow and change!

Ryker's eyes were open and he looked so cute I couldn't help myself.

Ryker loves napping on his daddy and Erick is so good with him.

This is Ryker's lower lip face - it melts me and he gets whatever he wants!
