Nothing bothers me more than people who accuse others of doing the same thing they are doing. For example - the conflict over gay rights. The homosexual community talks about tolerance and acceptance of their right to be homosexual and have rights for insurance and etc. Sounds like the Civil Rights Movement right?! However, they have gotten so tunnel-visioned in their pursuit for rights that they have been making life miserable for people who are heterosexual by trying to publicly humiliate them or trash their names - isn't this what they are accusing heterosexuals of doing to them? My question is, why can't both sides agree to disagree on their views and stop trying to pass sneaky legislation punishing the other group for not accepting their views (Senate Bill 909)? There are basic human rights that should be applied to all human beings such as medical care, death benefits, estates, etc and sexuality should not be the issue.
I, myself, do not embrace homosexuality, however, I know many good people who are homosexual and I hope that these issues can be resolved the way they should be - openly, honestly, and impartially. Have we not learned anything from our past about hate and intolerance?
