Easter Egg Dying

Easter brings some really fun traditions. One that we probably share with everyone is the coloring of easter eggs. However, I think there are only a small group of us that go egg rolling with them. When I married Erick, I knew nothing of the egg rolling tradition, but now I am fully indoctrinated with it. So we dye some eggs, use some for an after Easter meal, and use the rest to roll, so we don't feel to horrible if they don't turn out super perfect and beautiful.

Our Family Home Evening activity this past week was to dye our eggs. We wanted Ryker to do some this year and so it was a little bit of a nail biter but we made it through and had a good time.

I had seen a post on Facebook from Pintrest on baking eggs instead of boiling them, so I did and it worked great. We bought a Marble dye kit and had fun trying to test different color combinations. Ryker was having a hard time not dropping and cracking the eggs, and then he wanted to play with the cups of dye (more hair raising than dropping the eggs). After an hour and a half, this was our result . . .
