Webelos Day Camp

Lunch
I never thought that I would love being a Den Leader, but I do. I got called to be the Webelos Den Leader last October and I have fallen in love with teaching the boys all of the cool stuff in their books. What I find more enjoyable is that the group size is small, and being a teacher, I get more of a chance to answer questions and have good discussions on the material. It is fun to see them work through the program and get their Arrow of Lights.  Just this past May, Erick was called to be my partner and so we get to do it together and bounce ideas off of each other as to how we want to work the program.

Erick and the Crew demonstrating proper Row Boat protocol
On Tuesday, June 25, 2013, we got to go to Webelos Day Camp at Camp Kiesel in Huntsville, Utah. It was scary for me at first to take a bunch of rowdy, hyper 10 year olds but as the day progressed, they were so good and they did so well and even Erick and I had fun. We got conned into doing the archery portion of it, and I found that I really liked it a lot. After we finished Day Camp, we were able to finish up 4 pins, and are almost done with 3 others (major accomplishment with 9 boys in my den).

We had a great time and I would totally recommend scouting and day camp to anyone!!!
